National Train Control Centre
Laurence Mechanical delivered the mechanical services for the new National Train Control Centre, a highly secure, high-tech facility from which Iarnród Éireann controls the national rail network. The building spans a half basement and five floors, with the main mechanical plant located on level four.
The facility houses the telecommunications equipment room and systems rooms on level zero, Irish Rail operations on levels one and two, and third-party control centres for An Garda Síochána and Dublin City Council on level three, with welfare facilities and the canteen on level four. A separate guard house and back-up building contain the UPS and battery systems for Irish Rail and the third parties.
The mechanical systems installed include LPHW, water services, ventilation, air conditioning, and a full BMS.
